Monster Party!

Our second annual Monster Party was a BLAST! ⭐️ Shannon Elementary STARS pre-kindergarten students imagined monsters, and H9 students brought them to life! Our fashion design students turned monsters into plushies, principles of architecture students designed a house for the monsters to live in, and principles of education students wrote their monsters into a story! Last week, the Shannon students came to H9 to receive their monsters and spent precious time with the students who brought their drawings to life!

H9 Principles of Public Safety

On April 30 and May 1, the Principles of Public Safety class were treated to a visit by Sgt. Watson from the Rockwall Police Department.  Sgt. Watson explained the various employment requirements for Rockwall PD and the types of positions available at the Rockwall Police department. The students got to go outside to see what is normally carried in a police SUV and how the lights operate, with a few courageous students asking to sit inside the back seat of the police car. In addition, the students were shown how to apply handcuffs and allowed to practice putting handcuffs on each other.

Heath Orchestra

Before Spring Break, several of our Heath Orchestra ensembles participated in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest. All four of our participating ensembles earned superior ratings from each of their judges earning the status of Sweepstakes for all groups! In addition to their amazing performances, many of these students volunteered with hosting this event at our school and did a tremendous job. We are so proud of the continued outstanding musical excellence and achievement of our students. Congratulations to our Hawks on an amazing UIL season!
